SOBD health screening is on 19th March

Please take note that they have changed the date of the actual screening again. Sorry for the inconvenience.

SOBD is now on Friday, 19th March 2010.

So far the venue for actual screening has not been changed, it is still at Sekolah Menengah Berakas. The posters have been posted on notice boards along with the names registered. I have included everyone because volunteers will have shifts. To volunteer on the 19th, attendance is compulsory for the training on the 5th as we shall finalise the volunteer list on that day.

Time: Morning (will inform you later about the exact time)

YEP! youth programme

Youth Enrichment Programme.

Dear members,

We are pleased to inform you that there will be a joint activity with the Datalish Adventures Volunteers called the "Youth Enrichment Programme", sponsored by Brunei Shell Marketing. The objective of this activity is "to equip participating volunteers with important virtues such as team work, communication skills, decision making as well as the importance of bonding with each other as a group." - The Brunei Times (2009)

The tentative details are as follows:

Date: 21st March 2010 (Sunday)
Time: 8 AM - 4 PM
Venue: Tasek Lama Recreational Park, BSB
Schedule:
8 - 11.30 Morning stretch and activity
11.30 - 1.30 Lunch break
1.30 - 4 Afternoon activity and group photo


LIMITED TO 30 PARTICIPANTS ONLY.


Registrations are opened to all UBD students, but UVC members will be prioritized. Interested individuals are to submit their names, registration number, date of birth and complete contact details to uvcvolunteers@gmail.com (*please put subject as: YEP registration)

Meeting point: CLT Foyer

We'll make bookmarks, cards, scrapbooks etc. All of these for charity. Insya-Allah, we'll have sale booth nanti =)

Transport : (own transport to BSB yayasan jetty)

Special Olympics Updates

Dear Voluneteers,

I have recieved your names and the first 60 names have been forwarded to the MOH officer, Mohd Khairul, who will be incharged of training us. Prior to the special olympics event, there will be a health screening programme called The Healthy Athletes programme (HAP). Around 200-300 athletes are expected to be screened and the screening includes areas on physical therapy, eyes, dental and podiatry

HAP will brief and train us before the actual screening day. The training is scheduled to be on Friday 5th March 2010 - morning.(venue to be confirmed) which is during our semester break. The actual screening event is a week after, on Friday, 12th March 2010. This will take place in Sekolah Menengah Berakas. For your info, this is a full day event so it has been suggested by Mohd Khairul that maybe half of the volunteers will help in the morning and some in the afternoon.

For those who have sent their details but are not in the first 60 names list, we have placed you in the waiting list. We shall try to ask if you can be in this event as well, incase some people could not make it last minute.
