Billah, our celebrity vice captain, who once again represented UBD and Brunei to Singapore for a 10 days Expidisi Siswa. This program includes a 2 day stay at Penyengat island for somewhat like an educational yet adventurous reality program. The show was aired twice on RTB. ;)
Nora, our captain, who spent 3 weeks in Korea for SISS at the Sook Myung Women University in June. During the course of that 3 weeks, she had manage to finish one summer course.
Myself, who spent a week in Yala, South Thailand for community work at Tamvittaya Multini school teaching conversational english skills. And for your information, despite the media portrayal about South Thailand being a dangerous place due to religious conflicts, i had been treated well there by the muslims and the place is peaceful than one can think.
Sahlan, who is currently in Korea for Youth Camp for Asia's future 2010 representing UBD and Brunei for 2 weeks.
And to the others who volunteered on their own during the dormancy of UVC in the holidays. Congratulations all. We've done something indeed out of this holiday. For those who are new to UVC or waiting for our activities, please be patient. We are currently sorting out our courses and timetables and trying to adapt being in a new academic year. Once we sort everything out, we will be back with more news soon.
Not to mention that after the last sem's committee has been dissolved, we need a new set. This probably will be a great chance for everyone who is keen to become an apprentice as we are currently in our third year. UVC is the volunteering foundation we have built, and we wished for it to continue long even when we are no longer UBD undergraduates. So lookout for another UVC update.
Hint: Special Olympics will be back this September.
