To all registered members of UBD Volunteering & Charity Club (UVC), we are at the moment organising:
1. UVC Logo Making Competition
2. Audition: Editorial Committee Members for UVC monthly newsletter (10 selected members)
OBJECTIVES:
All members are encouraged to participate and submit their artworks as part of the ongoing activities held by the UVC.
i. To give opportunities to existing members to contribute and to feel more attached to the newly established club.
ii. To discover and polish members' designing and writing talents. Hence, through UVC, this will be a good stepping stone for them to involve in more extra curricular activities and as a platform to learn and exchange ideas with the community.
iii. To replace UVC's temporary logo with the best designed logo from this competition.
iv. To select (ten) potential members for the UVC newsletter editorial committee who will become UVC's very own journalists
Additional info:
* First, second and third places of the UVC Logo Making Competition will receive prizes and certificates as tokens of appreciation.
* UVC newsletter editorial committee will be working on a one year office term (until Semester 1, 2010/11) before the next batch of editorial committee are elected and are expected to meet datelines for a monthly newsletter publication.
TERMS & REGULATIONS:
UVC Logo Making Competition
- Logo design must be original upon designer's own creativity
- Each member can submit five entries at the most. Additional artwork submissions will not be entertained.
- Special considerations will be made if UVC's motto is included ("We serve to assist. Volunteering for a better future.")
- All original artworks are to be saved in image format (.jpeg, .bmp) and to be sent to UVC's email (uvcvolunteers.gmail.com)
- Along with the original artwork, members are to include their full name, student registration number, programme and faculty, contact number and e-mail address.
- Winners of this competition (first, second and third places) will be personally notified a week after the date of submission. Further official announcement will also be done.
UVC Newsletter Editorial Committee
- Each member is to write an article that focuses on three themes (choose one): i) Humanitarian; ii) Volunteerism and; iii) the Environment.
- Each member can submit five entries at the most. Additional article submissions will not be entertained.
- No word limitation (half a page is considered sufficient)
- Articles are to be typed in Times New Roman with font size 12. Documents are to be sent in .doc or .docx format (word documents) to UVC's email (uvcvolunteers.gmail.com)
- Along with the article, members are to include their full name, student registration number, programme and faculty, contact number and e-mail address.
- The ten selected students for the newsletter Editorial Committee will be personally notified a week after the date of submission. Further official announcement will also be done.
No registration forms are required and simply submit all your artworks (via e-mail: uvcvolunteers@gmail.com) before Saturday, 31st October 2009, 6PM. AND kindly type the e-mail subjects either "LOGO COMPETITION" or "UVC EDITORIAL COMMITTEE"
